An 18 bedroom extension to create a 36 bedroom care home in Reigate Surrey

This 3 bedroom house was as built in the 1950s with a typical long narrow living room and separate kitchen and dining room. It was extended previously to create an odd space to the rear that looked out onto the garden without patio doors or French doors.

The client had recently purchased the property and instructed MB Architecture to create an additional bedroom, an en-suite, and an open plan space downstairs. We prepared a cost plan and a planning package for submission to the local authority planning department. Planning was approved, we prepared a building regulations package that was approved first time, and a procurement package. The project tenders came in within 5% of our cost plan and we appointed a contractor to carry out the works.
